DCT Problem. Good Morning! Yesterday in the off I left the house with little gas and I reached the limit where the red light of fuel started to blink. At this moment, something very strange happened. The electronic injection warning light came on and the DCT stopped working. I drove about 10km looking for a station with a locked gear in 2nd gear.
Hi All, I'm new to the forum. I joined because I'm about to purchase an Africa Twin Adventure Sport ES. 2022 model. I'm leaning towards the manual clutch model rather than the DCT. I can see where the DCT is a bit safer, easier, and more convenient. Especially in rush hour traffic. But I'm not convinced it's the right choice off-road.
As with the manual transmission the engine quits if the side stand is lowered in gear. If you want the engine running with the side stand down the bike must be in neutral. 4) No issues with creep or crawl so far. 5) For refueling the bike has a fill plate inside the tank. Fill to the plate and stop.

2 posts · Joined 2016. #31 · Nov 16, 2016. So the dealer has had by AT for a day. They checked the spark plug gaps, the ignition coil wiring and the MAP sensor hose for kinks. Once these have been ruled out as causing problems, then Honda will authorise a replacement starter / kill switch. This will be done next week.
As others have said, Honda has spent time designing an engine including what oil to run in it. Sure, in summer you could run pure 40 weight oil, just make sure it warms up first. And then see what it's like when you ride the bike. Similarly, you can run super low viscosity oil, full synthetic etc. and test that.
One of the most commonly reported problems with the Honda Africa Twin DCT is overheating. This can occur during long rides or riding in extreme weather conditions. The DCT system generates a lot of heat, and if not managed properly, it can lead to performance issues and even damage the transmission.
Ciro. · #2 · May 21, 2021. Stalled my Africa Twin 1100 today for the first time! I was very shocked as I did not know it can happen. The bike just went for its first service and only covered 800 miles. The bike was not cold or particularly warm when it happened. At a traffic light in D mode, just a normal smooth acceleration and it stalled.
