86 posts · Joined 2017. #1 · Dec 28, 2017. Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction of doing a heated seat retrofit. I get all the coding that needs to get done. Also have the seats and ready to be installed, they are like for like, only difference is the heating part. So need help with wiring.

Unfortunately the heating pads and components are not pre-installed in all seats. The only thing I have found is that sometimes the cars themselves will have the wiring already in situ to allow for retrofit but tbh even that has only been on the E53 X5's where they are pre-wired for everything pretty much. This is a brand new genuine BMW Heated Front Basic Seat Element for the backrest for a BMW E90 E90N LCI Sedan and E91 E91N LCI Touring 2006-2012. These are sold individually and come brand new in BMW packaging. I bought a Corbin seat and wired with the BMW plugs and it doesn't work either, so something with the bike and not the seats seems to be the direction things are pointing. I checked the voltage in the plug for the front and it shows 8.3 volts with the heat turned off in the menu and 10.3 volts with the heat turned on, regardless of setting. 5209 posts · Joined 2008. #10 · Mar 6, 2009. Hmm, guess that's one plus for the coupe's. When you throw the driver/front passenger seat back forward to allow rear seat access, you can also lift and displace the seat bottom up and forward for more room, even if it was stuck in the lowest position.
